*Raising awareness *Giving support *Fighting brain
tumours
The
Foundation’s driving objectives are to:
Raise
awareness of brain tumours in children and young adults
Raise
the profile of organisations that already support children and their families
who have been diagnosed with a brain tumour
Raise
funds for children and young adults with brain tumours, and their families
Our
Aims
The
aim of the Isabelle Lottie Foundation is to support children and their families
following the diagnosis of a brain tumour. Every year in the UK about 500
children and young adults are diagnosed with different types of brain tumour.
This usually marks the beginning of a life-changing and difficult journey, but
having a better understanding of the illness and the treatments that are
available can help families to cope and prepare for the next steps following
diagnosis.
Following
Isabelle’s experience, we her family and friends have launched “The Isabelle
Lottie Foundation”. We aim to improve awareness of brain tumours in children
and young adults, fund and raise the profile of supporting organisations and
neurosurgical research.
The Isabelle Lottie Foundation was formed in February 2014 by the family and
friends of Isabelle following her diagnosis and treatment for Medulloblastoma.
Izzy was just two when she was diagnosed, and she and her family have since
embarked on a life-changing journey through diagnosis and treatment.
This wonderful man is Eddie Hincks. Eddie is part of the CHICS charity who have supported us and many more families from the very beginning our our oncology journey and continue to do so. We are honoured to have been able to donate some more money to CHICS to help them to continue to keep on doing what they do so very, very well.
Thank you to Eddie for simply being there when we have needed you the most.
Almost
6 years ago we entered the world of childhood cancer and the complexities of
life after a brain tumour diagnosis. In that time we’ve had the worst of the
worst times, but some of the most amazing opportunities too. However, this week
we reached a wonderful milestone and Izzy rang the End of Treatment Bell. This
marked 5 years since treatment completed. It’s a day we couldn’t even have
dreamt possible, but we got there. 🌈 I hope this inspires you, no matter what your
battle is. We
live in awe of Izzy every day 🌈
